Wendy Dankers, affiliated with the AR&D research institute, has been awarded the AUF Startstipendium 2024. This €25,000 grant will support her innovative research into pregnancy complications in women with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). Using an innovative organ model, her project aims to advance our understanding of the impact of SLE on pregnancy, potentially leading to better clinical outcomes for affected women.

The AUF Startstipendium, funded by the Spinoza Fund, supports promising early-career scientists at Amsterdam UMC. Wendy’s work is part of a broader effort to tackle urgent medical challenges and drive academic advancement in the field of medical research.
