The semifinalists of the Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award 2025 have been announced. Which idea deserves a spot in the finals? Voting is open until May 12. So, vote now for one of the three nominated Amsterdam UMC projects!

The Amsterdam Science & Innovation Award 2025 is the competition for research-based innovative ideas from all research disciplines. Which groundbreaking medical ideas will make it to the stage in the AmSIA '25 finals?

A Better World

It is now up to the voters and a professional jury (led by İlknur Dönmez, Director of Economic Affairs and Culture of the City of Amsterdam) to decide which semifinalists will present their ideas during the finals on June 17 at the NEMO Science Museum in Amsterdam. Which innovative idea do you think contributes to a better world?

"AmSIA has meant a great deal to the project team with which we won two years ago. Following the press release after the AmSIA award and the interview with BNR, a company approached us that is likely to bring our urine meter to market. Licensing discussions are progressing steadily. Additionally, since AmSIA, we have raised 280,000 euros from sources including NWO and are working hard to get the urine meter approved for use in the European Union. Winning the AmSIA award has truly been a kickstarter for our project."
