Focus of research
Since 2024, I have been a PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. M.A. Oudijk. Our research focuses on improving the understanding of preterm birth and its outcomes. We study several key aspects of this complex condition, including the preventive potential of aspirin, diagnostic approaches to preterm birth, and the effects of tocolysis (contraction inhibitors) on neonatal outcomes. Through these topics, we aim to bridge clinical practice and research to advance perinatal care, to protect both mothers and their babies.
What motivates me most is the opportunity to improve clinical outcomes and make a real difference for future generations. I’m passionate about prevention and about finding ways to give every baby the best possible start in life. It is inspiring to see how even small changes in care can have lasting effects. By studying the mechanisms and management of preterm birth, I hope to contribute to reducing its global impact.
Innovation in diagnostics is another driving force behind my research. I believe that better, more accurate diagnostic tools are essential for timely and targeted interventions, as well as for reducing unnecessary treatments or hospitalizations. By combining clinical insight with scientific curiosity, I strive to translate research findings into meaningful improvements in patient care.
