Wilko Verbakel is Associate Professor at the Amsterdam UMC, and Principal Research Scientist at Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers Company. He graduated from the Eindhoven University of Technology with a Master degrees in Technical Physics (1994) and in Design of Physics Instrumentation. After working some years as a nuclear physicist, he completed his PhD in 2003 on Boron Neutron Capture Therapy and became a staff medical physicist at the Amsterdam UMC in Amsterdam in 2004. Since 2023 he is Full-time principal research scientist at Varian Medical Systems.
