Theme The Vaccine Continuum: from bench innovations to global impact

General

From discovery in the laboratory to equitable access in low‑ and middle‑income countries, vaccines move along a complex continuum that involves basic science, human challenge studies, regulation, post‑marketing safety monitoring, and implementation in public health systems. This half‑day symposium will bring together researchers, policymakers and public health professionals to explore how innovations at the bench can be translated into effective, acceptable, and accessible vaccines across the globe. We will examine scientific and methodological advances in vaccine development, the role of EU and global regulatory frameworks in enabling access, real‑world data on safety and effectiveness, and the practical challenges of integrating new vaccines into routine care and national programmes, including issues such as vaccine hesitancy and health‑system capacity.

The programme will feature short talks covering key stages of the vaccine continuum, followed by a panel discussion focused on opportunities for collaboration and the upcoming vaccine‑related funding call. The morning will conclude with a networking lunch to facilitate new partnerships across disciplines and sectors.

Please reserve 5 June, 09:00–13:00 at De Balie in your calendar.

A formal invitation with the final programme, chair, and registration link (including details for online participation) will follow soon.
