On Tuesday March 10, 2026 QoC researchers have the opportunity to meet again during an Eat-while-meet lunchmeeting. The topic of this lunchmeeting is the broad field of research on quality and safety in healthcare.

Dr. Irene Jongerden will shortly present an overview of the work on quality and safety in healthcare from the research group, which involves plenty of collaborations with other research groups, sections and practitioners.

Dr. Hanneke Merten will present a project on patient safety in hospital care. We are currently working on the sixth national measurement of adverse events in hospitals, a large-scale project with practical implications. During the meeting we will share some of our ideas on stakeholder involvement, how to safeguard our independent role and practical challenges that we face.

PhD candidate Ir. Britt Wagenaar joined the research group in 2024 and will share her experiences with working on a large data-collection, and the challenges of finding a balance between all the different tasks as a PhD-student. She will talk about the practical management of the project in which we work with a team of researchers on two different locations (Amsterdam UMC and Nivel).
