The Amsterdam Cohort Hub (ACH) is dedicated to improve the infrastructure for longitudinal cohort studies in the Amsterdam region and to increase the impact of these studies in order to benefit the health of the population and society at large.

Every four weeks, ACH organizes a webinar to present our cohort-studies and discuss themes relevant for cohort studies, their staff and researchers. This month, we have scheduled the following webinar:

  • The Netherlands Longitudinal Study on Hearing (NL-SH) - Marieke van Wier

  • Advancing Data-Driven Healthcare: Connecting Cohort Research and Policy - Victoria Härtling

The Netherlands Longitudinal Study on Hearing (NL-SH) - Marieke van Wier

The Netherlands Longitudinal Study on Hearing (NL-SH) is a fully web-based national cohort in which adults with and without hearing loss participate. It was set up in 2006 to examine associations of hearing ability with psychosocial, work and health outcomes in working age adults. In this presentation the coordinator of the NL-SH will provide an overview of the cohort and its key findings so far.

Advancing Data-Driven Healthcare: Connecting Cohort Research and Policy - Victoria Härtling

The presentation will introduce the Amsterdam Data-Driven Vulnerability Support System (ADViSe). The ADViSe project aims to strengthen the usability and application of existing cohort-based health care data held by Amsterdam Public Health (APH) to improve care provision for population groups at risk of experiencing social vulnerability in Amsterdam. Therefore, in a first step, the project aims to explore how researchers and policymakers can better inform each other’s work to strengthen data-informed policy development and policy-driven cohort research and data collection.
