There is a vacancy within the APH Quality of Care research program. Currently, the research program is led by two Program Leaders, prof.dr. Ruth van Nispen (dept. ophthalmology) and prof.dr. Ellen Smets (dept. medical psychology), and is supported by a program secretary (Inge van Strien, postdoc researcher). The Program Leaders regularly meet with their Program Council, which is a selection of senior, mid-career and junior researchers who are actively participating in the research program. As the position of prof. Smets is becoming vacant, we would like to appoint a new Program Leader in consultation with the APH Board of Directors.

- award the research program’s budget to program members, via research project calls, various grants and initiatives;
- represent the Quality of Care research program in APH’s Program Leaders meeting as well as towards internal and external stakeholders;
- co-lead the Program Council meetings;
- co-organize annual APH meetings and program-specific meetings;
- stimulate the engagement and collaborations among program members e.g. via lunch meetings and special interest groups;
- initiate and monitor the implementation of program-specific activities.
Criteria
- PI-level (min. 1 PhD supervised);
- expertise in QoC-related research, relevant to the program;
- available for ~2 hours per week on average (flexible schedule over entire period);
- broad network, both within Amsterdam UMC, VU and UvA and externally;
- active member within the research program (demonstrated by previous contributions to program-specific activities);
- experience in a management position, preferably of research initiatives/platforms.
The Program Leader is appointed for a period of 3 years, with the possibility of a 3-year extension. The position is unpaid, we recommend candidates to negotiate dedicated time with their department chair.
