For the visibility of you as a member from Amsterdam Reproduction and Development (AR&D) and to strengthen your own network, you have a personal page within Amsterdam UMC. This personal page contains information about your function, your research area, publications, other research output, datasets, and contact details. The information is extracted from Pure, so it is essential to have your Pure researcher’s profile complete and up to date.

Pure is the research information system of Amsterdam UMC, Vrije University, and University of Amsterdam in which publications and other output are registered. Only what is registered in Pure counts in the official figures used for accounting to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) and other stakeholders through our annual report and the Self Evaluation Protocol (SEP) reports.

It also gives you and your research exposure with an extensive profile on the research portals (Amsterdam UMC, VU, UvA) and a researchers profile on the AR&D website.

Update your Pure profile in three steps:

  1. Get your AR&D affiliation added
    Most publishing employees of Amsterdam UMC, VU and UvA have a Pure profile including their departmental affiliation. Besides the departmental affiliation, all researchers must also be affiliated with a research institute, which must be added manually. A minimum of one research institute and a maximum of two research institutes is allowed.

    For Amsterdam UMC: the Pure contact person of your AMC or VUmc department can affiliate you manually in Pure to a research institute.
    For VU: please contact the Library Pure Support.
    For UvA: please contact the Pure support team.

  2. Validate and add your research output and other important activities
    The automatically imported publications in Pure need a final validation of the researcher. Publications and other contributions can also be imported manually or via an automatic search (via Scopus). Other important research information and activities can be manually added to your Pure profile, including projects, prizes, awards, press/media, committee memberships, guidelines and datasets.

  3. Update your personal information
    Every member can edit or add personal information to their Pure profile, to present themselves and increase their findability, which can improve collaboration. This also includes uploading a professional and representative photo, your ORCID-ID, a biography/focus of interest, and keywords describing your expertise.
