Karin Gerrits, research coordinator at Merem, receives a ZonMW grant of € 79.515 for the project: "Implementation of personalized training for patients with non-acquired brain injury: FITopMAAT". Merem medical rehabilitation and the Faculty of Behavioural and Human Movement Sciences (FGB, VU) together facilitate better exercise training for patients after non-acquired brain injury. Besides her work at Merem, Karin works as an assistant professor at the FGB, VU. Within this project she can optimally serve as a bridge between science and clinical practice. She will set up a learning network together with lecturers and students of the faculty ánd with physicians and practitioners from Merem. This will lead to a strong connection between science, education and clinical practice, which allows better and more rapid implementation of scientific knowledge. At the same time VU students will learn about training in clinical practice and to implement new developments optimally.
