Jaap van Netten has been appointed PI in the 2023 PI round at Amsterdam UMC. Jaap works at the department of rehabilitation at Amsterdam UMC and has a background in the movement sciences. He is part of the Amsterdam UMC Center for Diabetic Foot Complications (ACDC), aiming to improve the quality of life of people with neuropathy, by increasing their capacity for physical activity, while decreasing their foot ulcer, amputation and fall risks. This research includes real-life and laboratory gait and activity analyses, communication strategies, footwear optimization and e-health solutions for disease detection and behaviour changes.
