Internist-infectiologist Vanessa Harris (Department of Global Health) has been awarded a substantial sum of money to study whether rotavirus vaccines can prevent resistance to antibiotics in children in Zambia and Ghana. She is doing this in collaboration with researchers from the Department of Medical Microbiology. The research falls under AMR-Global's GLORIA program, a public-private partnership that brings together experts from diverse organizations in the fight against antibiotic resistance.
The GLORIA program is co-funded by a PPS grant recently made available by Health~Holland, Top Sector Life Sciences & Health. To Vanessa Harris' project, Health~Holland is contributing €800,000.
