The goal of the AGEM work visit grant is to enable PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers to receive training in new techniques, both preclinical and clinical, or to initiate collaborations with research groups at an institute in a different country. These work visits, for which AGEM supports a maximum of six months, are intended to benefit both the grant recipients and AGEM. For recipients, learning new techniques and/or establishing international collaborations should enhance their research, while the international experience will strengthen their CVs and support future grant applications. For AGEM, the benefits include expanding its international network and acquiring new technologies. Grant recipients are required to return to and remain at Amsterdam UMC/AGEM for at least six months following their work visit abroad.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible to apply for the AGEM work visit grant:
- The PhD candidate/postdoc is embedded in a research group of a principal investigator (PI) from the Amsterdam UMC who is a member of the AGEM research institute (responsible AGEM PI).
