On August 11, 2023, our dear APH colleague Dr. Anja van ‘t Hoog, passed away.

Anja was a senior global health researcher and physician, and effectively combined both roles to reach true impact on peoples health. Anja had a broad interest and was active in a wide scope of activities, including key contributions to the origin of the Global Health program of APH.

Anja was dedicated to perform high quality academic research herself and with her PhD students. She was an active and respected member of the Scientific Quality Committee of APH and a highly appreciated lecturer of statistics and epidemiology.

Anja was a warm and positive person, with a comforting sense of humor. She enjoyed her work with colleagues in Amsterdam and abroad. We will miss her greatly. Our thoughts are with Anja’s family, friends and colleagues. We wish everyone strength during this difficult time.
