Focus of research
Since oktober 2025 I have worked as a PhD candidate at Amsterdam UMC, within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. My research is conducted within the Amsterdam Reproduction & Development research institute under the supervision of Prof. dr. J.P.W.R. Roovers.
My research interests focus on urogynecology and women's pelvic floor health. My research combines clinical and translational approaches to improve the understanding, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of pelvic floor disorders and perineal trauma, from childbirth-related injury to pelvic floor dysfunction later in life. My work includes research on non-invasive diagnostic techniques, pelvic floor surgery and postoperative recovery, as well as the physiological mechanisms underlying tissue injury and adaptation.
