Specialization

Currently I am in a tenure track position at the department of Experimental Immunology and the department of Hematology. Our research group is the Immuno-Hematology group led by professors A.P. Kater and E. Eldering.

I have worked in the group as a postdoc since 2019. Before I have completed my PhD at the Transplantation laboratory of the Erasmus MC, department Internal Medicine, supervised by professor C.C. Baan and dr. K. Boer. Title of my thesis was: Clinical implications of DNA methylation for Kidney Transplantation.

Focus of research

My main interests are the molecular regulation of dysfunctional T cells in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). I study this by utilizing different models of the disease in which I apply multi-omics sequencing technology in combination with in vitro and in vivo models of the disease. The overall aim of my research is to identify actionable targets to improve T-cell based therapies for CLL.
