Focus of research

On August 1, 2026, I began my doctoral research on the topic of community-based prevention in community nursing. This project aims to develop and evaluate a community-based preventive intervention in which community nurses, together with older adults, other community residents, and primary care professionals, support older adults in continuing to live independently at home for as long as possible. During the development phase, a literature review will be conducted, and, in collaboration with stakeholders, a context analysis will be performed. The evaluation phase will focus on the feasibility and impact of the intervention. The project aims to strengthen collaboration within neighborhoods among older adults, other neighborhood residents, and
professionals, thereby promoting social participation, autonomy, and well-being. This research provides scientifically grounded evidence for a participatory, community-based prevention approach that enables future-proof care.
