We are proud to share that Andrea B. Maier, has been selected by TIME as one of 12 Longevity Leaders, recognizing scientists and innovators helping to advance the science and practice of healthy longevity.
As a clinician-scientist, Andrea’s work focuses on understanding and influencing the ageing process, with the ultimate goal of extending healthspan: the number of years we live in good health.
Her work is guided by a clear ambition:
“Generate the evidence. Educate the people. Translate the science.”
Ageing research has become increasingly important in recent years. Andrea, among others, is working to critically examine which approaches truly contribute to healthier ageing, and to understand what works, for whom, when and why.
Congratulations Andrea on this wonderful recognition!
She herself writes: I am honoured to be selected by TIME as one of 12 Longevity Leaders in its inaugural list, alongside an extraordinary group of scientists and innovators who are advancing the science and practice of healthy longevity.
We are living through an extraordinary period in the science of ageing. #Discoveries are moving from laboratories into clinical research, and the possibility of changing how we approach ageing is becoming increasingly real.
But possibility is not proof.
What I strive for is to help build the evidence that tells us what works, for whom, when, and why to improve health.
#Education: equipping the current and next generation of healthcare professionals, scientists, entrepreneurs and policy makers with the knowledge to critically evaluate this rapidly evolving field.
#Translation: taking robust science from the laboratory and clinical trials into responsible, measurable and meaningful solutions for people.
This is the work I am privileged to pursue with my wonderful team at the National University of Singapore, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine through our research, clinical trials, clinical care evaluation, education and outreach. At Chi Longevity evidencebased care is being implemented.
