Focus of research

My work focusses on understanding cellular and molecular mechanisms of relapse of acute myeloid leukemia. We develop computer models for the prediction of residual disease in flow cytometry data, allowing objective, fast and cheap results. A reliable measurable residual disease assessment will allow a tailored post-induction chemotherapy treatment, as such it aids to improve outcomes and quality of life for AML patients. Besides this I aim to gain better insight in biological factors involved in relapse development.
