Are you a first‑generation researcher at Amsterdam UMC and do you want to contribute to better health and care for diverse and/or underrepresented patient groups? Then submit a proposal for the First‑generation Booster Grant 2026. The grant is provided by the UvA Fund from the First‑generation Fund.

Available budget and project duration

  • Two grants of €5,000 each are available.

  • The maximum project duration is 1 year.

  • The final deadline for project completion is 31 December 2027.

For whom?
First-generation PhD Candidates and Postdoctoral Researchers (no longer than 5 years since receiving the PhD title) employed by Amsterdam UMC (or Amsterdam UMC Research BV, or an institute/legal entity affiliated with Amsterdam UMC). First-generation researchers are those researchers whose parents themselves did not follow higher education. 

Timeline

  • 1 June 2026 – Call opens
  • 14 June 2026 – Submission deadline
  • 29 June 2026 – Outcome
