This year’s SPH funding has been granted to the study entitled “The replication crisis unraveled in occupational health”. This is a collaboration between SPH researchers Malte van Veen (main applicant), Pieter Coenen, Alexandra Sarafoglou, Roos Schelvis and Karen Oude Hengel.
In scientific fields which are adjacent to occupational health, questionable research practices have been identified as threat to the validity of the published literature. A discussion on this topic is missing for the field of occupational mental health. Until now, because SPH decided to finance the research project of Malte van Veen and colleagues. The researchers will examine if there is a bias towards reporting statistical significant findings among articles on work-related mental health.
If you have any questions, tips or remarks about this topic, please get in touch with Malte van Veen via malte.vanveen@amsterdamumc.nl. We congratulate the researchers with their fund and look forward to hearing about the results at the end of 2023.
