Amsterdam Cohort Hub (ACH) connects and supports cohort studies in the Amsterdam region. By bringing together data, expertise and resources, we help strengthen cohort research and contribute to better health for all.
Our mission
ACH brings together diverse cohort studies, 25 in total and counting. Together, these cohorts reflect the diversity of Amsterdam, from children and families to older adults and high-risk groups.
Our mission is to connect data and expertise to improve public health. We develop shared infrastructure and procedures, support FAIR data use and provide researchers with practical tools and expert guidance. This makes cohort research more efficient, accessible and impactful.
Our ACH Roadmap 2026 outlines how we translate this mission into priorities and actions.
Organization
ACH is led by a Steering Committee and supported by a multidisciplinary central team and active communities of researchers and data experts. An Advisory Board consisting of national and international experts provides strategic advice and an external perspective. Together, we build connections across studies, institutions, and disciplines.

Participating Studies
ACH brings together a wide range of cohort studies involving citizens and patients in Amsterdam and beyond. Each cohort contributes its own data and expertise to a shared resource for public health research.
See all ACH cohorts on our ACH cohort webpage.
Partnerships
We collaborate with national and international initiatives to align data standards and share best practices, including Nederlandse Cohorten Hubs (NCH), Nederlands Cohort Consortium (NCC), Health-RI, Cohort and Biobank Coordination Hub (CBCH, and Closer. These partnerships help broaden the reach and impact of Amsterdam’s cohort research.
