General
Join the Annual Society for Research into Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida (SRHSB) Conference, taking place from September 16-18, 2026, at the Amsterdam UMC Hospital, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Since its founding in 1956, the SRHSB has been committed to advancing knowledge, fostering understanding, and supporting research aimed at the prevention, treatment, and management of hydrocephalus and spina bifida.
Amsterdam UMC is a centre involved in spina bifida care, and it is important to remember spina bifida is not just a neurological condition; as we know, it affects multiple aspects of a patient’s health. This year, at the conference, we aim to adopt a multidisciplinary approach to spina bifida, expanding the focus beyond neurology and neurosurgery. In addition to key neurological and neurosurgical topics, we will highlight areas such as rehabilitation, urology, paediatrics and other essential disciplines.
This comprehensive approach promises to make the congress not only engaging but also highly relevant for all specialists within spina bifida care. The conference will bring together leading experts from a wide array of disciplines—including spina bifida and hydrocephalus research, and as such, it’s an opportunity to gain insights across various fields, ensuring a well-rounded and impactful experience for all attendees.
Target audience
Health professionals and research scientists involved in spina bifida and hydrocephalus care; Spina bifida and hydrocephalus teams (pediatric and adult) comprising physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation specialists, urologists, nurses, allied health therapists, neuroscientists, residents, fellows, PhD/MS/Medical Students, clinical and basic scientific researchers in all fields, and those studying CSF flow dynamics, injury mechanisms, and the causes & treatment of hydrocephalus.
