The results of this consultation will be used to formulate recommendations for travel policies that will support the medical sector’s goals of reducing carbon emissions by 55% in 2030 compared to 2018. Air travel is a major contributor, and this project will serve to find out what kind of recommendations are supported by those within the sector. All researchers in UMCs are invited to contribute to this consultation, as you are also part of the medical sector through your employer.
The consultation is organized by a project team led by Amsterdam UMC prof. Wouter Hehenkamp, supported by UMCNL, NVZ and many scientific and professional societies. Participation is open from 22 June 2026 until 2 August 2026 and takes approximately 15 minutes.
