                Amsterdam Research Board

The Amsterdam research board (ARB) represents the research community of Amsterdam UMC and advises the executive board on research policies. Together with the deans and administrative staff, the ARB aims to promote responsible research conduct. The ARB is composed of up to two directors from each research institute, a selection of independent researchers, and members appointed for their research-related roles. The board is chaired by the vice-dean of research.

                Good Research Practice Committee

The Good Research Practice (GRP) Committee promotes good conduct of medical scientific research involving human participants. The committee advises and supports the Executive Board on clinical research policies, particularly regarding its role and responsibilities as a sponsor of investigator-initiated research at Amsterdam UMC.

The GRP also connects all stakeholders involved in the conduct of research involving human participants, contributing to an optimal infrastructure and continuous improvement of the quality of research in Amsterdam UMC.

This multidisciplinary committee consists of a core team of representatives from across the organisation who are directly involved in the conduct of medical scientific research, such as PI's/researchers (including 'Ontregel het Onderzoek'), Research Support (monitoring, legal, datamanagement), Quality Assurance, the medical board, and specialized units (trial pharmacy, privacy, MREC, medical devices, trial unit coordinators).

Together the committee strives for efficient and compliant high quality medical scientific research based on three key points:

                Netwerk Mensgebonden Onderzoek (NMO)

In mid-2024 the research network was revived under the new name: Netwerk Mensgebonden Onderzoek (NMO). The goal remains the same: to facilitate easier connections among research professionals and promote the exchange of knowledge.
The network is intended for research coordinators, research nurses and research staff, but other stakeholders are also welcome to join. The platform offers a space where you can ask questions, post topics you want to know more about or share suggestions among colleagues.

A deliberate choice was made to operate without a specific point of contact. Instead, the focus is on knowledge sharing, allowing to expand the network and ensure its success. Every now and then a meeting is organized, so make sure to keep an eye on the Teams site for updates.

How to join NMO via Teams: go to the Teams tab and click on the plus icon labeled 'become a member or join a team'. Enter the following code in the designated filed: loehk91.
