Amsterdam Public Health

EUPHW is an annual initiative led by EUPHA to shine a spotlight on public health. Each year, hundreds of organizations and thousands of individuals across Europe come together to host activities, share knowledge, and raise awareness of important public health challenges and solutions, promote collaboration and drive action on the most pressing health challenges.

APH is organizing a new event on May 19, 2026: the APH GezondheidsWerkplaats. APH researchers, together with societal partners and citizens, will work towards concrete solutions for urgent public health challenges.

Every month (Mondays or Tuesdays) from 12:30 to 1:00 PM, an online lunch and learn meeting on inclusive research will be held, organized by the Amsterdam Public Health Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (APH DEI)

Lecture & speech On May 21st from 12:00-13:30, Young AGEM will be organizing a great panel discussion event titled: "Scientific Match"!

Working on implementation research and finding it tricky to choose the right theory, model or framework (TMF), or wondering how (and when) to combine multiple? Join our journal club on the paper Hunter et al. (2025) exploring the combined use of the i-PARIHS framework with other approaches.

Lecture & speech On Friday, May 29, 2026, at 16:30, prof. dr. Dionne Kringos, appointed Professor of Health Systems and Services Research, focused on the sustainable improvement of health care systems, will formally accept the position of professor by delivering an inaugural lecture.

Other Join the Science Night 2026, an engaging evening where science, conversation, and celebration come together around this year’s theme: “The science of time.”

Congress & symposium The programme will feature short talks covering key stages of the vaccine continuum, followed by a panel discussion focused on opportunities for collaboration and the upcoming vaccine related funding call.

On June 9 and 10, another Writers' Retreat for early career researchers within APH Digital Health will take place. Organized by the junior council, this retreat will take place at 't Paviljoen in Rhenen, near Dierenpark Rhenen.

Course & workshop This grant-writing course is designed to equip you with the essential skills to craft well-structured, clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals. Across the day, we will guide you through the different sections of a grant application, providing practical tips and actionable strategies to improve your proposals.
