Examples
Viveon works with four research themes. The leading theme for the content of Viveon projects is the contribution to sensible care: care from which a positive effect can be expected on the lives of clients, relatives and care professionals. In doing so, each project takes place in co-creation with the stakeholders of the research results.
Autonomy and Freedom
Being able to decide for yourself what happens in your life and with you is of great importance to everyone. People with intellectual disabilities do not always get the freedom they want. Under the theme of Autonomy and Freedom, we conduct research into how clients can have control over their lives in a way that is pleasant for everyone.
Family, Care and Life Course
Growing up with an intellectual disability is not something you do alone. Often an entire family is involved: educators, siblings, grandparents and many care professionals. Within the Family, Care and Life Course theme, we are researching the support that loved ones need and how care can focus more broadly, in addition to clients, on the entire environment of someone with an intellectual disability.
Developing and Learning
Being allowed to learn and develop throughout life is a right for everyone. Also for people with intellectual disabilities. However, this is still not always self-evident and regularly requires customization. In addition, care professionals want to continue to develop within their work. Within the theme Developing and Learning we investigate what clients and care professionals need in order to develop and continue to learn.
Infrastructure and Data Science
Healthcare organizations are collecting data on clients on a continuous basis. By making efficient use of this existing data, we want to minimize the burden on the care triangle of client, care professional and neighbor. In addition, data science can be used to look at care from this data with a new perspective.
