General

Last November, the anniversary edition of the HPBeter symposium took place. Both participants and the organizing team experienced it as a fantastic day in which the vulnerable patient was central and attendees were updated on the latest developments in the HPB field.

This year, the symposium will focus on inclusivity and accessibility in healthcare. How can we bridge gender and cultural differences, and how can we ensure equitable access to treatment within HPB care?

A pioneer in this field is Professor Dr. Angela Maas, a cardiologist and author of the book The Health Gap, in which she demonstrates that medical science is still too often based on the male body as the default. During the symposium, she will deliver the keynote lecture entitled:

"She Makes the Difference in Healthcare: As Both Patient and Healthcare Professional."

Accreditation: Requested for NVMDL, NVvH, NVRO, NVvR and V&VN
