Post-award services
Research Grant Support (RGS) provides project management expertise for large collaborative projects, both in the contract preparation and the implementation phase. These services are provided by experienced RGS Project Managers (PM).
Contract preparation phase
In this phase of the project, contracts need to be prepared before the project can start (e.g. Grant Agreement and/or Consortium Agreement). At RGS, we offer support to AUMC coordinators. We advise researchers and their consortia through the administrative processes that come after the grant is awarded. These processes include setting up and signing agreements with the funding agencies, as well as with the consortium.
Project implementation phase
In this phase of the project, administrative and management tasks need to be performed (e.g. reporting, organization of network meetings, recruitment processes, etc.). RGS offers support in two different roles:
Dedicated PM: we support coordinators (Amsterdam UMC project leaders) as dedicated PMs assigned part-time to their consortium projects with management tasks such as project administration, progress monitoring, organization of meetings, reporting, and recruitment.
PM Advisor: we also offer project management advise to all Amsterdam UMC researchers or project managers when they have specific questions about their projects.
Professionalization of project management at Amsterdam UMC
We strive to professionalize project management to facilitate the work of Amsterdam UMC PMs, and increase their visibility, recognition and value. To that purpose, we have created the Amsterdam UMC Project Managers Network, an initiative that aims to connect all professionals in Amsterdam UMC who fulfil project management tasks, and to share best practices and useful resources. To join our network, please contact us at rgs@amsterdamumc.nl.
