Amsterdam UMC offers an enormous collection of scientific journals of all major publishers and access to all major databases like PubMed, Embase, Scopus and Web of Science. Most of the collection is subscribed content, so you have to log on to your digital workspace(mijnwerkplek) first and use your brwoser to visit PubMed or the journal website.

Journals

Almost all recent publications (and many older ones) for journals in Medicine are available online, and can be found through the open access journal browser.

The Journal Browser provides access to more than 11,000 journals available wherecorresponding authors from Dutch universities and UMCs can publish in open access for free or at a discount.The journals to which the AUMC has access, have been made available via this tool.

If you can't find the journal or article throughthe journal browser, just to be sure, look inVU Libsearch or UvA catalogue.

NOTE: if the Amsterdam UMC does not have a license, there is no online access to the journal or the article. In that case, use our request service.

Books

Acces in VU Libsearch  or UvA catalogue

Many recent books are available digitally. Access rights for digital books vary: some books can be downloaded, and others can only be read from the screen. Often, the number of simultaneous users is limited.

Available e-books may be read directly on-screen; restrictions may apply to downloading and printing.
